RESUMEN

Investigations regarding the preparation and durability of cement-based materials applied in specific coastal acid rain environments are scarce, particularly those involving the addition of four auxiliary cementitious materials (ACMs) to cement for modification. To improve the durability of concrete structures in coastal acid rain areas, a systematic study was conducted regarding the preparation of high-strength and corrosion-resistant cement-based materials using ACM systems composed of fly ash (FA), granulated blast furnace slag (GBFS), silica fume (SF), and desulfurization gypsum (DG) instead of partial cement. Through an orthogonal experimental design, the effect of the water-binder ratio, cementitious ratio, and replacement cement ratio on the compressive strength, corrosion resistance coefficient, and chloride ion permeability coefficient of the materials were analyzed and the mix proportions of the materials were evaluated and optimized using the comprehensive scoring method. The results show that implementing a FA:GBFS:SF:DG ratio of 2:6:1:1 to replace 60% of cement allows the consumption of calcium hydroxide crystals generated through cement hydration, promotes the formation of ettringite, optimizes the pore structures of cementitious materials, and improves the compressive strength, acid corrosion resistance, and chloride ion permeability of the materials. This study provides a reference for selecting concrete materials for buildings in coastal acid rain environments.

The diverse utilization of pyrolysis liquid is closely related to its chemical compositions. Several factors affect PA compositions during the preparation. In this study, multivariate statistical analysis was conducted to assess PA compositions data obtained from published paper and experimental data. Results showed the chemical constituents were not significantly different in different feedstock materials. Acids and phenolics contents were 31.96% (CI: 25.30−38.62) and 26.50% (CI: 21.43−31.57), respectively, accounting for 58.46% (CI: 46.72−70.19) of the total relative contents. When pyrolysis temperatures range increased to above 350 °C, acids and ketones contents decreased by more than 5.2-fold and 1.53-fold, respectively, whereas phenolics content increased by more than 2.1-fold, and acetic acid content was the highest, reaching 34.16% (CI: 25.55−42.78). Correlation analysis demonstrated a significantly negative correlation between acids and phenolics (r2 = −0.43, p < 0.001) and significantly positive correlation between ketones and alcohols (r2 = 0.26, p < 0.05). The pyrolysis temperatures had a negative linear relationship with acids (slope = −0.07, r2 = 0.16, p < 0.001) and aldehydes (slope = −0.02, r2 = 0.09, p < 0.05) and positive linear relationship with phenolics (slope = 0.04, r2 = 0.07, p < 0.05). This study provides a theoretical reference of PA application.

This study aimed to assess the mediating roles of positive and negative emotions on the relationship between COVID-19-related risk perception and coping behaviours adopted by Chinese college students in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. We conducted an internet-based questionnaire survey from mid February-late October 2020, among 1038 college students, from six Chinese universities (females = 73.41%), ranging within 17-26 years. The survey questionnaire included three major components-the COVID-19-Related Risk Perception Scale (CRPS), the Positive and Negative Affect Scale (PANAS-Revision), and Coping Response of COVID-19 Scale (CRCS). Descriptive statistics and a mediated model were used to analyse the collected data. A partial mediation relationship was found between COVID-19-related risk perception and 1) active-response behaviour (ß = 0.05, 95% Confidence Interval [CI: 0.03, 0.08]), 2) self-protection behaviour through positive emotions (ß = 0.03, CI [0.01, 0.04]), and 3) risk-taking behaviour through negative emotions (ß = -0.04, CI [-0.07, -0.02]). This study's double-mediation model has been shown to detect the effect coping mechanisms to COVID-19. Furthermore, it implies that public health managers should consider the differences in coping mechanisms and the diverse mediating roles of positive and negative emotions for coping with public health emergencies.

Dissolved organic matter (DOM) greatly influences the transformation of nutrients and pollutants in the environment. To investigate the effects of pyrolysis temperatures on the composition and evolution of pyroligneous acid (PA)-derived DOM, DOM solutions extracted from a series of PA derived from eucalyptus at five pyrolysis temperature ranges (240-420 °C) were analysed with Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, gas chromatography-mass spectroscopy, and fluorescence spectroscopy. Results showed that the dissolved organic carbon content sharply increased (p < 0.05) with an increase in pyrolysis temperature. Analysis of the dissolved organic matter composition showed that humic-acid-like substances (71.34-100%) dominated and other fluorescent components (i.e., fulvic-acid-like, soluble microbial by-products, and proteinlike substances) disappeared at high temperatures (>370 °C). The results of two-dimensional correlation spectroscopic analysis suggested that with increasing pyrolysis temperatures, the humic-acid-like substances became more sensitive than other fluorescent components. This study provides valuable information on the characteristic evolution of PA-derived DOM.

In order to accurately localize the image coordinates and serial numbers of intraoperative subdural matrix electrodes, a matrix electrode localization algorithm for image processing is proposed in this paper. Firstly, by using point-by-point extended electrode location algorithm, the electrode is expanded point-by-point vertically and horizontally, and the initial coordinates and serial numbers of each electrode are determined. Secondly, the single electrode coordinate region extraction algorithm is used to determine the best coordinates of each electrode, so that the image coordinates and serial numbers of all electrodes are determined point-by-point. The results show that the positioning accuracy of electrode serial number is 100%, and the electrode coordinate positioning error is less than 2 mm. The algorithms in this paper can accurately localize the image coordinates and the serial numbers of a matrix electrode arranged in an arc, which could aid drawing of cortical function mapping, and achieve precise positioning of brain functional areas, so that it can be widely used in neuroscience research and clinical application based on electrocorticogram analysis.

The main shortcomings of using electrocortical stimulation (ECS) in identifying the motor functional area around the focus in neurosurgery are certainly time-consuming, possibly cerebral cortex injuring and perhaps triggering epilepsy. To solve these problems, we in our research presented an intraoperative motor cortex functional mapping based on electrocorticography (ECoG). At first, using power spectrum estimation, we analyzed the characteristic of ECoG which was related to move task, and selected Mu rhythm as the move-related feature. Then we extracted the feature from original ECoG by multi-resolution wavelet analysis. By calculating the sum value of feature in every channel and observing the distribution of these sum values, we obtained the correlation between the cortex area under the electrode and motor cortex functional area. The results showed that the distribution of the relationship between the cortex under the electrode and motor cortex functional area was almost consistent with those identified by ECS which was called as the gold-standard. It indicated that this method was basically feasible, and it just needed five minutes totally. In conclusion, ECoG-based and passive identification of motor cortical function may serve as a useful adjunct to ECS in the intraoperative mapping.
